Did you know you can spring clean your braces? Well, it’s true. In fact, you should make spring cleaning your braces a top priority. Spring cleaning your braces can help you have the top-notch appliance you need to reach the smile you have always wanted. So, our orthodontist, Dr. Nathan Helm, encourages you to spring clean your braces this year. To do so, you can do the following things:

-Visit your dentist for a professional dental cleaning: Professional dental cleanings are very important for your oral health. It’s also the perfect treatment to deeply clean your teeth, gums and braces and get rid of any stubborn and dangerous substances from your smile.

-Replace your toothbrush: It’s important to replace your toothbrush every three to four months or when the toothbrush bristles are worn down. Typically, when you brush with braces, the bristles get worn down quicker. So, if your toothbrush bristles are frayed, it’s time to replace the brush!

-Invest in a water flosser: Sometimes flossing your teeth and braces with dental floss can be difficult, but flossing your teeth and braces with a water flosser isn’t. Water flossers spray a strong stream of water into the smile to clean the crevices between your teeth and around your braces. So, consider investing in a water flosser to make flossing more convenient with braces.
